Lark Wildlife Research offers a range of ecological research services that can be tailored to the needs of your project. See our services below, and contact Laura at laura@larkwildlife.ca to begin developing a plan for your needs.
Field surveys

Our services can be tailored to the surveying required for your study. This can include capture surveys where demographic and morphological data can be collected, as well as the collection of samples including DNA, feces, and fur. Your project may include acoustic surveying to passively survey for the bat presence.
Radio telemetry and habitat assessment

Laura specializes in radio-telemetry to find critical roosting and foraging habitat for bats. Once bat roosts are located, these habitats can be assessed and characterized.
Monitoring programs

Laura has experience planning and implementing bat monitoring programs in the Northwest Territories and Alaska. These programs can include regular population counts, short or long-term acoustic monitoring, monitoring for white-nose syndrome, and more.
Consulting

Laura regularly does consulting for landowners and properties where bats are roosting in human-made structures. We can work together to find a solution to maintain the bat population while relocating them to a more suitable habitat.
Training

Laura has been contracted to train incoming junior biologists and graduate students on field and lab analysis methods.
Data analysis and reporting

Lark Wildlife Research provides data analysis and well-written scientific reports and manuscripts.
Outreach

Laura is also an environmental educator, and regularly speaks at schools, libraries, youth groups, and more. Contact Laura at laura@larkwildlife.ca for activities, workshops, or presentations about bats.
We value sound scientific planning and project implementation, as well as reporting clear results and data-driven conclusions.
